1994 – present NOISE - Network of Interdisciplinary Women’s Studies in Europe

NOISE, Network of Interdisciplinary Women’s Studies in Europe was initiated thanks to the grant of the EU Lifelong Learning Programme (Erasmus Intensive Programmes, DG Education & Culture). The goal of the NOISE program, coordinated by Utrecht University (the Netherlands) is to allow students of the NOISE partner universities to follow courses in women's studies at the host university or to work on the preparation of their theses. Students gain academic recognition at their home university for the study period they spend abroad. Founded in 1994, the NOISE Summer School has been a successful yearly event, providing students and teachers with an opportunity to transmit, exchange and develop knowledge in the field of women's studies in an international context.

Over the last years Women’s Studies Centre also collaborated with Women’s International Studies Europe (WISE) and the Association of Institutions for Feminist Education and Research in Europe (AOIFE), of which Prof. Elæbieta H. Oleksy was a president from 2003 till 2006. The cooperation has been continued within ATGENDER, the European Association for Gender Research, Education and Documentation. The professional association ATGENDER was founded in September 2009 by WISE, AOIFE and ATHENA3. It strives to foster an exchange and cooperation between the academic community and women’s organizations, women’s documentation centers and libraries, policymakers and NGOs in the field of women’s rights, gender equality and diversity, and ambassadors for diversity in profit and non-profit organizations.
